About
Bo Bonny Sister is the home for surface pattern design by Chelsea von Hasseln (a.k.a. Sister,) who is now all grown up but still rocks her signature short bangs.
The name is a tribute to her late brother Sean, a.k.a. Seany Bo Bonny, who was a steadfast supporter of Chelsea’s design career and a brilliant creative in his own right.
Chelsea’s 11 years of experience in the surface pattern design industry include original pattern development, repeats, colorways and trend research for brands including Trina Turk, Icebreaker, Pair of Thieves, Turbine Outerwear, RYU, Sloggers, and many more.
Chelsea is the community manager for Pattern Observer and the Textile Design Lab, where she teaches surface pattern design techniques to students from around the world. She also manages Pattern Observer Studio, curating a growing library of nearly 1,000 designs and exhibiting at trade shows such as Surtex and Premiere Vision.
